Within the Details tab, you can configure various settings for a medication. Below is a summary of each option:

Medication Properties

Long Term
Tick this box if the medicine should continue month to month. If unticked, it will be removed from the App after its scheduled end date.
Controlled Drug
Tick this if the medicine requires a witness signature at the time of administration.
High Risk
When selected, the medication will be flagged as High Risk on the eMAR App.
Stock Counted
Determines whether stock levels are reduced after each administration.
- Untick this for items that are difficult to count accurately, such as eye drops, creams, or inhalers.
- Stock levels can then be adjusted manually at the end of the cycle.
QR Code Enabled
Enables barcode or QR code scanning at the time of administration.
- This only functions if the dispensing label from the pharmacy includes a scannable code.
- QR codes can be printed from the system once this setting is enabled.
Administration Managed
When ticked, the medication appears on the eMAR App for administration.
- Untick this in cases where the service user self-administers or where external professionals (e.g. district nurses) administer the medication.
Covert
Indicates the medicine can be administered covertly, only if appropriate risk assessments are completed and in place.
Pain Level on eMAR
When enabled, a 1–10 pain scale will be displayed on the App at the time of administration. This is optional to complete.
PRN
Tick this if the medicine is a PRN (as-needed) item. This allows PRN protocols to be added.
PRN Follow-Up Enabled
Enables follow-up prompts on the App for PRN medications, based on the configured time interval.
Medicated Topical / Non-Medicated Topical
These options are used when setting up body maps.

In the 'Round Duration' box you can input the desired length of the round.

'Route of Administration' allows you to select how the medication will be administered, for example oral, inhalation and other options. Select this to open a drop down menu and select the correct route of administration for that medication. This will then be displayed in the App
'Low Stock Alerts' appear on the Portal Dashboard. In the box here input the stock level at which you wish for a warning to appear on the Portal Dashboard
Finally press 'Save' to confirm your changes
